(I kept the translation as 'straight' as possible, even at the risk of it sounding a bit clunky in the English, so as to avoid putting any words in the Rav's mouth. I hope God helped me to do an accurate job!)
The translation of his phone call is below:
We should pray, request and beg before the Creator of the world in the following way: ‘Ribono shel olam, we are begging You, we are asking for a free gift, have mercy on us we have no one else to rely on. Like Chazal said, there will come a time when there will be no more advice [help]. We have no one to rely on, only You, our Father in heaven. Ribonu shel olam, have mercy on Am Yisrael, return them in complete teshuva without suffering, without these wars. Awaken their hearts and turn their fear into fear of Hashem.’
We should request from Hashem that He should have mercy on us, and that mamash, that the geula shleimah should come.
The whole time, there should be 4 or 5 people doing hitbodedut, and the yeshiva should mamash make an ordered list [of people who are praying]. Also, we need to go out to Am Yisrael, to the places where it’s possible to meet people, to the shopping malls, to the hospitals, wherever it’s possible to meet people.
Tell everyone to take upon themselves to say the Tikun Haklali (the General Rectification). Rebbe Nachman of Breslev said that it has a very great koach, for protection and for salvation. Mamash, we need to go out to the hospitals, wherever it’s possible to meet people, to the shteibels, wherever it’s possible to meet people.
And there’s nothing to be afraid of! We are going to greet the complete geula (redemption). Don’t be afraid! Strengthen yourselves with prayer and with spreading the holy Torah.
Don’t just sit there!
This is the time to act for Hashem. There is nothing else to do. Now is a time of war. The whole time, there should be 4/5 people doing hitbodedut upstairs, and there should be an ‘order’ of people doing it 24/7.
We’re going to greet the complete geula, in the simplest sense of the words, without any confusion. We are going to greet complete geula. Strengthen yourselves. Beg the Creator of the world that He will bring down great fear upon them.
‘And place your fear, Hashem Elokeynu, over all Your handiworks and Your awe over all that You created’ – (From the Rosh Hashana Shmoneh Esrei).
Hashem will create great fear in order that Am Yisrael will do teshuva from the fear. And all the nations, they will have great fear and shaking and trembling, and then, they will mamash flee from Eretz Yisrael. Hashem will bring fear on all the Arabs and the Yishmaelim in Eretz Yisrael, that they will feel this fear and they will flee in fear – fear and trembling will overtake them, and they will flee from Eretz Yisrael.
This is the time of salvations. We are going to greet the geula. Don’t be confused. Don’t be afraid. We are here [in Morocco] with the kindness of Hashem. We are pouring out tears and prayers without end, with the kindness of Hashem. And you over there [in Israel] should be strong. Hashem should protect you, with Hashem’s help, and give you health and happiness. We shall meet next week, bH, and soon it will be the complete redemption, Amen, may it be His will.
Chodesh tov and blessings to everyone. And especially to my dear students and to all of Am Yisrael, may it be His will.
This month should / will turn from ‘Mar’ Cheshvan (‘bitter’ Cheshvan) to ‘Matok’ Cheshvan (‘sweet’ Cheshvan). This month now, there is no chagim (festivals). There will be in it the greatest chag, Chag ha Geula will be in it (festival of redemption). There will be in it the greatest chag. There will be in it a festival that is greater than all of the other chagim, Chag ha Geula, BH.
