As a result of our discussion, and then the big whopping amount of hitbodedut I did afterwards, to try to get more clarity about the role anti-depressants should play, if any, in an orthodox Jewish approach to depression and anxiety, I ended up writing a whole bunch of posts about the subject, which you can read over on the JEMI blog this week.
At the same time, I also got up to 'Gratitude' in the series on Deeper Needs over on the Talk to God blog, and gratitude - or rather, a lack of gratitude - and depression are also closely linked. Head over HERE to take a look at that side of the equation.
As always, I welcome your feedback about all this stuff, and I think it's a debate the frum Jewish community urgently needs to have. So please drop me a line, or leave me a comment. I read every one, even though I rarely respond - mostly because I often don't know what to say, and I don't want to type just for the sake of it. But I appreciate all of your input, nevertheless.
