With volcanoes in Mexico and Bali starting to belch smoke and fire; meteoric ‘fireballs’ being caught on camera in the UK and France; weird weather fronts seeing the temperature drop to minus 10 when it’s still November in the UK - all capping a year of hurricanes, massive spontaneous forest fires all over the globe, and general all round weirdness - it seems like ‘something else’ is in the offing.
My appliances are giving me electric shocks again (which happens every time there is more ‘electromagnetism’ in the air), and I’ve got that weird, weak, dizzy feeling that hits me just before I hear about a huge terror attack in Paris, or the start of the stabbing Intifada in Israel, or some other big wave of ‘judgment’ coming down to the world.
According to the Dave Dobbs model, he’s predicting a massive earthquake to hit sometime in the next few days.
With all the volcanoes going off, he may be right.
Which brings me to another strange observation. I stopped reading the autistics a couple of years ago, as their obsession with the ‘unfixable’ Erev Rav (some of whom I have seen get ‘fixed’, with my own two eyes…) and certainty about 2/3 of the world being destroyed just doesn’t jive with the Breslov belief that our true Tzaddikim can sweeten all the decrees, and that every Jew’s prayers, repentance and charity can change EVERYTHING around.
How many times do we read about how Noach COULD HAVE SAVED THE ENTIRE WORLD if only he’d prayed for them? Or how Avraham COULD HAVE SAVED SDOM if he’d prayed more for them? This was the ‘chiddush’ that Moshe Rabbenu discovered when God wanted to destroy the Jewish people after the sin of the Golden Calf:
the prayer of the tzaddik on behalf of his people changes everything.
Our true Tzaddikim - including most notably Rav Eliezer Berland and Rav Dov Kook - have been working night and day for decades already, to bring more and more people back to authentic Judaism, and to having a real relationship with Hashem, at huge costs to themselves, their health and their reputations.
Rav Berland famously told his students many years before he went into exile that there was a certain Admor before World War II who’d been on the level to sweeten the decrees of the holocaust, if he’d have accepted upon himself public humiliation and disgrace.
Sadly, he wasn’t up to the test.
But BH, we live in a generation with a tzaddik who WAS up to that test, and that’s why the Iranian nuke has virtually disappeared, that’s why Obama barely landed a punch on Am Yisrael, despite 8 years of huge hatred and agitation from the Oval Office; and that’s why I’m not scared of the next war or Nibiru fly-by.
The last few months, I’ve been trying to share with you, dear reader, all the information I’ve been piecing together, with a great deal of help from Immanuel Velikovsky, Rabbi Dovid Brown, the Midrash Rabba, James McCanney and Rebbe Nachman (amongst others) to present a clearer picture of how comets work, and how planetary fly-bys can affect our planet and our climate, and things like earthquakes and volcanoes, and also our own moods, state of minds and physical and mental health.
So it’s so strange for me to read messages from the autistics that overlap with so much of what I’ve written here on Emunaroma and spiritualselfhelp.org.
But here’s the thing you mustn’t forget:
While it’s so true that in materialistic terms Eretz Yisrael is akin to ‘Noah’s ark’, as it’s the only truly ‘fixed’ piece of real estate in the whole world, while all the other continents and land masses are set on floating ‘plates’ that can rise to the height of Everest or drop to the depths of the sea - all in the blink of an eye - for once, it’s not all about location.
It’s much more about WHO you know, WHO you are connected to, and WHAT you believe.
If you believe in our true Tzaddikim, and you’re trying to connect to them and give them the proper respect, and if you truly believe in Hashem and His omnipotence, and you’re trying very hard to connect all the ups and downs in your daily life back to Your Creator - then you’re also on Noah’s ark, spiritually-speaking.
Rebbe Nachman teaches us something awesome: in our day’s ‘Noah’s Ark’ is hitbodedut. It’s not an external state or an external place, it’s the practice of connecting to God inside your own dalet amot every single day, and connecting your soul back to your Creator by talking to Him about all the stuff that’s going on in your life.
And this is where I again part ways with the autistics, who in the past I let ruin so many of my relationships with relatives who live abroad, and so many of my happy occasions, with all their paranoid scare-mongering that is essentially the opposite of emuna.
Emuna means I see God’s hand in everything in my life, good and bad. If God wants to send a ‘Nibiru’, if He wants to start WW III, or another intifada, G-d forbid, if He wants CERN to collide things underground, or evil people to run the Israeli government and army - ultimately, God is the one deciding all these things.
And what will get all this ucky stuff to change and ‘sweeten’ is not running around pointing the finger at other people’s ‘erev rav’ tendencies, but my teshuva, my prayers, my charity, and my efforts to develop more humility and to get a grip on the arrogant idea that I’m in charge of my own life.
Nibiru doesn’t bother me, because I know that without God’s help, I can’t even get out of bed in the morning. Nothing is under my control even when there aren’t volcanoes, IS terrorists and anti-Torah politicians hitting the headlines.
It also doesn’t bother me, because I’m doing my best to identify the true Tzaddikim of the generation, and to stay as close to them as I possibly can.
I guarantee that the 4/5 of Am Yisrael who died in the plague of darkness in Egypt all had huge stockpiles of tuna and mineral water in their pantries.
But what they didn’t have was a strong belief in Hashem, and in Moshe Rabbenu’s ability to lead them out of exile unscathed.
As King Solomon wrote, there is nothing new under the sun.
So, keep working on talking to Hashem every day; keep asking Him to show you who the true Tzaddikim really are, as there are an awful lot of ‘fakes’ out there; and keep believing that every mitzvah you do, every prayer you utter, every attempt you make to uproot your own bad middot and to act charitably with your fellow Jews, that’s all building you your own spiritual Noah’s ark that will ultimately get your through.
As long as you’re connected to the true Tzaddikim.
I don't know why that message is missing from the autistics, but it's the piece of the puzzle that truly changes the whole picture.
