When I started it up over a year ago now, it was kind of a carry-on blog from the stuff I'd been writing on Breslev.co.il for the last eight years, with a bit of energy medicine and aromatherapy mixed in.
At that point, I thought I was starting a new career as an energy medicine aromatherapist type person, but after giving it my best shot for months, God showed me there's another plan going on instead.
Instead, I got one steer after another to concentrate more on the writing, and much less on the hands-on stuff. So I started up the JEMI website, to start teaching more people about introducing God-based holistic stuff into their own lives and health paradigm.
I also wrote a few books (more on that in a minute), and started up another website, called www.talktogod.today, to start being more of a 'light unto the nations' type Jewish wisdom blog (and hopefully increase my book-buying audience into double figures☺).
In the meantime, as the holistic health stuff got peeled off into JEMI, and the more general Jewish wisdom stuff got peeled off into Talk to God, that left lots of my own personal stuff for Emunaroma, much along the same lines as was happening at Breslev.
An attempt to keep my private life 'private'
But part of the reason I left Breslev in the first place is because I was getting a bit sick of spreading my most intimate difficulties over the internet.
So, this is what I'm intending to do now, with God's help:
1) Firstly, I want to move away from 'Rivka's personal life' stories (at least mostly, unless they're hilariously funny like the exploding sewage one, or incredibly meaningful).
2) Secondly, I want to start writing more about the tremendous wisdom contained in the books and teachings and life experiences of the Breslev rabbis - not just Rebbe Nachman and Rav Natan (although clearly them too,) but also more discussion of ideas from Rav Arush, Rav Ofer Erez, Rav Berland, and the lesser-known but incredibly amazing rabonim like Rav Levy Yitzhak Bender. (Take a look at the new Breslev page on Emunaroma. It's a work in progress, but I hope to start making it a true 'who, what and why' Breslev resource.)
3) Thirdly, I want to write more about the different books I'm reading, mostly Jewish and religious, but not all. But I'm finding some very illuminating ideas in other places, about health, mostly, and I'm reserving the right to try and tie it all together here on Emunaroma.
4) Fourthly, I'm going to re-jig the site, get rid of the leftover 'energy medicine' stuff, and move all the holistic health articles that are worthwhile over to JEMI. (Update: That bit clearly already happened...) Then, I want to create an author page here, and a few other bits related to the books I've written, including details for how you can get in touch with me, if you want me to come to your community (for free, if it's in Israel) and give a class on Jewish holistic health, or a shiur on Breslev stuff, or do a book signing, or pretty much whatever takes your fancy.
Talk to me, people
The last thing I want to do is encourage more healthy interaction with you, my readers. It's probably going to take a week or two, but I want to sort out a survey so you can tell me what you want to see here (within the parameters set out above). And when it goes up, I'd really appreciate your involvement, even though I know how busy and overloaded with internet stuff everyone is these days.
I realised that my blog, like my life, kind of got stuck being too much of a one-way street. I don't know if it's possible to change that, but I'd really like to know who YOU are, and what makes YOU tick, and what YOU care about, so I don't only get 'feedback' from people who hide behind their own anonymity.
It doesn't have to be comments (which I still don't really know how to 'do' properly) - drop me an email and say hello!
Next week, I'm off to Uman for a whistle-stop 48 trip to try to recharge my spiritual batteries. When I'm back, I'm hoping to start going down the new path on Emunaroma with gusty - and I really hope you'll join me.
