Back in the UK, I blindly obeyed whatever the doctors told me was the right thing to do for my kids and dutifully vaccinated everyone with everything - until one kid's eczema got so bad, I started to question why the only thing the doctor was offering us was serious steroid creams that seemed to be doing more harm than good.
Questioning my doctor on that issue slowly but surely lead me to the shocking conclusion that the doctor:
a) Didn't know what they were really talking about
b) Was prescribing serious drugs to my kid that was actually only making the problem worse
c) Was in complete denial about points A and B, above.
But starting to unpick all the untruths being told by the medical establishment has taken me a very long time, and I'm still not 100% sure of my position on vaccines, primarily because Rebbe Nachman seemed to favor them, while at the same time warning his followers away from relying on doctors in pretty much any circumstance.
So, I'm still not hardcore 'anti', but I'm certainly not unquestioningly 'pro' either. I'm still trying to pull all the pieces together to make my own mind up - and that's where this video, which I found posted by Daisy Stern MD, on the Israel Truth Times blog, comes in.
Take a look at all the SCIENTIFIC, PEER-REVIEWED data they're presenting about the difference in health outcomes between vaccinated and unvaccinated kids, and then see what conclusions you come to yourself. (It's around 15 minutes long).
As Reb Akiva of mystical paths wrote in this blog post, halacha or Jewish law requires us to do the utmost to protect our physical health. This video raises a number of interesting questions on that front.
As I mentioned in the last post, modern science is founded on an awful lot of deceit and vested interests, and that sadly includes Western Medicine. We have to work together to clarify what's true and what isn't, and what God really wants us to do, and what He doesn't really want us to do.
It's pretty scary to not vaccinate, and it's also pretty scary to vaccinate!
This is one area where we need to get God involved in our decisions, and to really pray as much as possible that whatever decision we make, with God's help, our kids will only benefit from it, and not be harmed.
Shmirat Eynaim warning: This video has a woman in it.
