Apparently, that interview didn't air yet, but when it does expect all the usual suspects to start going crazy and frothing at the mouth again.
The irony is, no-one who is really guilty of these things would EVER in a million years go onto to TV after they'd already served a prison sentence, saying they should go back to jail for more time. As each day passes, it gets clearer and clearer to anyone who's willing to open their eyes even a little bit that everything surrounding Rav Berland is shrouded in the deepest spiritual mysteries.
But it seems there's still a little more 'sweetening of the judgments' required (although this week, I've been feeling like things have lightened up considerably, thank God, at least in my life) - and this is apparently the way it has to happen. Recently, the Rav gave out a number of warnings that anyone that can't take being humiliated by association should quit Shuvu Banim, and find a different rav to follow.
I was pondering that earlier this week, when someone I'd asked to interview for The Secret Diary of the Jewish Housewife refused on the grounds that I was supporting Rav Berland publicly on my website, clearly implying that I was involved in some big cover-up for a terribly wicked person, God forbid.
That stuff is not so easy to take lying down....
But compared to financial difficulties, exploding marriages, bad illnesses or a nuke from Iran, it's also not so hard in the big scheme of things. It's all diamonds, as my husband kindly reminded me.
So, now to the update about the book: It's written, it's proofed, and it's currently with my co-author who is BH showing it to the Rav himself in the next few days, and also getting feedback from other people within Shuvu Banim. Unlike my other books that I turn out very fast because I'm the only one that has to answer for them, this book is so significant it's going to take much longer to get to publication stage.
Every word and story is being checked and double-checked for factual accuracy, and there are other considerations around it too, that may affect what finally gets published.
I hope it'll be out in the Summer, but once we get feedback from the Rav, in particular, we'll have a better idea of what's happening next.
Again, if you'd like to part of making it happen, you can go HERE to read more about it, and contribute to the printing and design costs.
But remember the story isn't over yet, and it looks like there's still a bit more 'disgrace and humiliation' to come.
But it's still a million times better than getting nuked.
