I've been there a whole bunch of times, and each time I go I come back with some profound insights, growth opportunities and spiritual breakthroughs.
There is something about going to Uman, to Rebbe Nachman, that just gives a person the fortitude and courage they need to break their old, destructive habits, and to start over again.
The main problems with going to Uman are:
- It's in the Ukraine
- It costs a lot to visit
- It's hard to make the trip (which usually takes a few days) if you have young children to look after
- It's in the Ukraine....
Derech Tzaddikim have been arranging trips to Rabbenu for decades, and they've just come up with a new wheeze that takes care of two of the above problems:
They are organising a 1 day round-trip to Uman, leaving January 23, and back January 24, for $370. If you need to bring your baby with you, it's an extra $80.
You can get more details and book online HERE - and I can't encourage you enough to go, especially if you've never been before.
Rav Arush has said on many occasions that once a person goes to Uman, even if only once, it changes everything for them, spiritually-speaking. Not least, if you recite the Tikkun Haklali in Uman, you automatically qualify for Rabbenu's help to get you out of Gehinnom, and if that's not worth $370, then I don't know what is.
I'm currently trying to ignore all the doom and gloom out there in Jewish blogland, but even I know that something big appears to be shaping up after Sunday. Whatever is coming up over the next few months, we need as much help as we can get to weather it - and spiritual support is Rebbe Nachman's specialty.
Without my hitbodedut and Uman, I would have been chowing down on the wallpaper in some mental institution a long time ago. (That's a secret, btw ;-))
So go HERE, book your ticket and avoid the loony bin!
