Well, a new study of holocaust survivors and their descendents just reached my mailbox that's kind of proving this point from a different, genetic angle: PTSD responses are being passed on genetically (that's the term modern science uses) to the descendants of holocaust survivors.

Personally, I find this stuff fascinating, as it's proving the point that Rav Arush (and probably others...) has been making for years, that children are simply the mirrors of their parents. Whatever stuff we don't get to grips with and deal with properly, we pass it on to our descendants.
That's a huge responsibility we have to the next generation, and it's also why all this talk about kids having the emotional problems or difficulties is rubbish: the kid is getting the diagnosis, but the root of the problem is in the parent. The sooner we take this on board, the better, and the less kids will get labelled with all sorts of psychiatric 'disorders' and pushed onto hard core drugs to make 'the problem' disappear.
It's not our offspring that need the help: it's us.
