Once the penny dropped a few weeks’ back (as described in THIS and THIS post) that Hashem uses close encounters with massive comets to affect planet earth and mankind, and that many of these ‘affects’ are described in our Torah sources, it’s opened up a whole new way of reading some of the passages in Tanach.
Here’s a selection of what I read, with my thoughts interspersed (which you can feel free to ignore...)
AN END OF DAYS MESSAGE FROM THE PROPHET ISAIAH:
“Enter the rock and be hidden in the ground, because of the fear of Hashem and from the glory of His greatness….Humankind’s haughtiness will be humbled and men’s arrogance will be brought down, and Hashem alone will be exalted on that day. And the false gods will perish completely, and [idolaters] will enter caves in the rocks and tunnels in the ground, because of the fear of Hashem and from the glory of His greatness.”
“Woe to those…who say, “Let Him hurry, let Him hasten His action, so that we may see it; let the plan of the Holy One of Israel approach and take place, so that we may know it.”
“Behold, the day of Hashem is coming: [a day] of cruelty, rage and burning anger, to make the land desolate; and He will annihilate its sinners from it. For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not radiate their light; the sun will be dark when it rises and the moon will not shine forth its light. I will visit evil upon the earth and upon the wicked their iniquity; and I will end the pride of the wanton…”
“It shall be on that day that Hashem will deal with the hosts of heaven in heaven, and with the kings of the earth on the earth.”
“..hear the word of Hashem, O scoffing men… For you say…’when the surging staff [of punishment] passes through it will not come to us, for we have made deceit our shelter and taken refuge in falsehood… Hail will sweep away the shelter of deceit and water will wash away the refuge [of falsehood]”
In Bilaam’s prophecy about the Kochav Yaacov in Parshat Balak, he says: “A star has issued from Yaacov and a scepter-bearer has risen from Israel.” Again, the word translated as ‘scepter-bearer’ is spelt שבט, in the Hebrew. It’s a standard principle in the Gemara that when a word sounds the same, even though it has a different spelling, it’s acceptable to learn something out from the similarity.
To sum up this bit, we have some (concealed…) connections in the Hebrew between:
- שביט - Comet
- שיט - the ‘surging staff’ that’s going to come and punish evil people at the end of days
- שבט - the ‘scepter-bearer’ connected with the Kochav Yaacov in Bilaam’s vision of the end of days.
“On every high mountain and on every exalted hill there will be pools, rivulets of water, on the day…when great ones fall. The light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times as strong, like the light of seven days…”
Also, large amounts of water appearing on tops of mountains is also a classic after-affect of a close encounter with a comet, and can be understood as referring to a variety of different possibilities for how the earth’s weather and / or topography could be affected.
“Nations will be like a burning lime pit, like cut thorns set aflame… Sinners were afraid in Zion, trembling seized hypocrites. ‘Which of us can live with the consuming fire?’”
1) The storm wind - BABYLONIA
2) A big cloud - PERSIA
3) A volatile fire - ROME
4) Klipat Noga - GREECE
It’s interesting to note just how many bizarre incidents of fire, both apparently man-made, and occurring in ‘nature’ have been going on the last few months, including the obviously miraculous ‘fire intifada’ that occurred in Israel a little while back, in November.
“All the host of the heavens will dissolve and the heavens will be rolled up like a scroll… For my sword has been sated in the heavens; behold, it shall descend upon Edom…”
“The poor and the destitute beg for water…I, Hashem will answer them…I will turn the desert into a pond of water and a parched land into sources of water.”
“O Israel, fear not, for I have redeemed you… When you pass through water, I am with you; through rivers, they will not wash you away; when you walk through fire, you will not be singed, and no flame will burn you.”
“Whoever will declare that he is like Me… let them tell us coming events and what is yet to happen. Be not afraid and be not terrified!”
“…you who have forsaken Hashem, who have forgotten my holy mountain, who set a table for Gad, who fill a libation to Meni - I will consign you to the sword…because I called and you did not answer, I spoke and you did not hear; you did what is evil in My eyes….Behold my servants will eat and you will starve…will drink and you will thirst…will exalt from goodheartedness, and you will cry out from pain of heart and wail from a broken spirit….
“For behold, I am creating new heavens and a new earth…. Only rejoice and be happy forever for what I am creating; for behold, I am recreating Jerusalem as ‘Gladness’ and its people as ‘Joy’.”
I.e., Isaiah is explaining what idol worship actually is, namely refusing to connect the things that occur in our lives to God. In this case, it’s referring to those people who refuse to connect ‘Nibiru’ or ‘Planet X’ or all the other weird weather / natural disaster type phenomenon directly back to God, and instead refers to all these things as though they’re NOT being 100% directly controlled by the Creator, and somehow have a ‘life of their own’.
But, this passage makes it clear that God wants us to know that HE is the one ‘creating new heavens and a new earth’ - and that He wants us to be HAPPY about everything that’s going on, even if it is a little bit scary and overwhelming.
How can we do this?
By working on our emuna, and trying to internalize that God is behind everything that’s going on. Nibiru / Planet X / Kochav Yaacov is only going to be a scourge for people who don’t have at least a little bit of emuna (and remember, there are NO atheists in a foxhole...).
For everyone who’s really with God (and not an atheist or phony religious hypocrite), there is NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!!!!
